crimsonKing Nah, unallocated doesn’t mean the drive is faulty, it just means it hasn’t been set up yet. Under its size it says “Not Initialized” , totally normal for brand new drives. If you ever have a situation where a new SSD is not showing up in Disk Management, then you’ve got a big problem on your hands and should check the physical connections, UEFI settings, and all that. But right now, OP’s problem is pretty mild: Windows can see the hardware, but until you initialize it and create a volume, it won’t show up in This PC. Normally Windows pops up a “You need to initialize a new disk” the second it boots with fresh storage attached, so I’m not sure why it skipped that prompt, maybe a notification got dismissed.?
OP here’s what you need t do is:
-Right-click where it says “Not Initialized” next to your 1TB drive
-Click Initialize Disk
-Choose GPT,; unless you have a specific reason to use MBR, you probably don’t🙂
-Once it’s initialized, right-click that and choose New Simple Volume
-Go through the wizard to format it (NTFS is fine), and assign it a drive letter
Once thats done, it should appear in File Explorer like normal. Let us know how it goes.
