Phew, I’m back with good news: I was able to recover about 20 photos with Disk Drill 🙌
Also saw a bunch of old photos in the preview I didn’t even realize were still on the card, but I didn’t need those just grabbed the important ones. The whole process was pretty quick too. I left it running while I made coffee, came back, and it was done. Saved the photos to my computer and they all open up fine, no glitches.
I also gave DMDE a try, but it kinda stalled at the beginning. The interface is a bit rough, but I managed to start a scan, didn’t find anything more than what Disk Drill had already shown, so I just closed it.
Pretty happy about my photos. Thanks everyone for all the suggestions and help. seriously appreciated.
PS: I went ahead and formatted the SD card right after, just in case. Read online that it’s good practice to fully reformat after these kindof problems to avoid file system issues down the line.
