In short:
First stop: Recycle Bin (Windows) or Trash (Mac).
If it was unsaved or Photoshop crashed: check AutoSave or Temp folders.
If it’s permanently deleted: a data recovery tool gives you the best chance.
For overwritten or corrupted PSDs: restoring a previous version is often the only option.
Just remember: stop using the drive right away to avoid overwriting the file. The sooner you try recovery, the better your chances.
